Earl S. Heimbach, 93, of Orangeville passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at The Gardens of Orangeville.

He was born February 9, 1923 in Berwick a son of the late Charles and Martha (Ludwig) Heimbach.

He is a 1941 graduate of Berwick High School.  Earl served in the United States Army for two and a half years in Sicily and Italy under General George Patton and Mark Clark and he attained the rank of Sargent Technician.  During his time of service he received the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with Five Bronze Stars.

Until his retirement, Earl was employed for thirty seven and a half years at the Wise Potato Chip Company.  He had previously been employed by Vaugh’s Bakery and the former American Car and Foundry Company.

Earl was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church for many years serving on numerous committees.  He was also a director, treasurer and land administrator of the Lopey Newill Rod and Gun Club.

As an outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Earl was preceded in death by his first wife Lois (Fisher) Heimbach and a son Dennis Heimbach.

He is survived by his wife Joann (Hess), they married November 20, 1999, a son Scott Heimbach and wife Priscilla of Berwick and a step son Kirk L. Hess and his wife Inez (Moss) of Raven Creek, four grandchildren;Matt Heimbach, Kerri and Matt Fitzsimmons, Gretta Heimbach and Fedor Welebob, and Michele (Heimbach) Willoughby, five great grandchildren; Mitch Kowalski, Brandan and Ashton Fitzsimmons, Fedor Dennis Welebob, Alyssa and Alison Willoughby, and two sisters Evelyn Webb and Shirley Fetterman.

Services will be Thursday at 11:00 am at James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 1024 North Market St. Berwick with Rev. Dr. David Mansfield officiating.  Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Friends and family may send condolences at www.jameslhinckleyjrfuneralhome.com.
