William F. Phillips

William F. Phillips, 93, of Berwick, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at his home.

He was born January 9, 1923 in Merchantville, NJ, a son of the late Roy and Mertie “Golder” Phillips Sr.

William attended Drexel Collage. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1943 and served until 1945 and attained rank of Sargent.  He was an accomplished writer and enjoyed traveling.  Bill and his wife danced their way through Europe.  They also owned and operated Lyric Restaurant and Bar in Shenandoah.

Bill was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife the former Leona “Lee” E. Gatowski with whom he married November 19, 1949, and two sons William F. Phillips Jr. and his wife Marlene of Margate, NJ and John P. Phillips and his wife Kathy of Ringtown and three grandsons Drew, Nathan and Elliot.
