Louise Frances (Moyer) (Houck) Bogart

Louise Frances (Houck) Bogart 94, of Bloomsburg, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Orangeville Health and Rehabilitation Center, in which she was a resident for one week.

Louise was born July 2, 1921, in Berwick Pa., a daughter of the late Clark Kiefer and Ada (Ash) Moyer. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Earl W. Houck who died on November 17, 1981 and her second husband Frank E. Bogart in 2002. Also, by an older brother who died in infancy.

She was a 1939 graduate of Berwick High School, were she was the Salutarian. Louise worked at the school district as a receptionist, First National Bank of Berwick, Waitress in Riverside Cal., Kindergarten Instructor-Unity Mission Kindergarten, Berwick, Nellie Welliver Clothing Store, Berwick Bank and Berwick Ribbon Factory. A member of the Shiloh Bible Church Almedia. She was known for always wearing a hat, her cheerful spirit, and after her husband Earl’s death, the butterfly (especially Monarch) became her defining symbol.

She is survived by a daughter, Christine H. Knepley and her husband Richard of Bloomsburg, two sons, Richard Houck of Blair, SC and Daniel and his wife Adelia of Millville, PA. Seven grandchildren, Angela Houck Niland, R. Michael Houck, Heather Houck Van Buskirk, Chelsea Houck, Matthew Knepley, Seth Knepley, Levi Houck, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, one great-great  granddaughter.

Service will be Monday November 16, 2015 at 11:00 am from the James L. Hinckley Jr Funeral Home, 1024 Market St. Berwick Pa. 18603 with her pastor Rev. Doug Lyon officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery on Walnut St. Berwick. Friends may call Monday from 10:00 am till time of service.
