Walter William Pilger

Walter William Pilger, 79, of Lewisburg passed away August 17, 2022. He was born May 10, 1943 in Hazleton, a son of the late Walter and Sophie (Boltach) Pilger.

He graduated from Hazelton High School and then from Penn State University where he received his bachelor's degree in biology. Walter worked as a manager at Department of Environmental Protection. He was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Owls Rod & Gun Club.

Walter is survived by his wife the former Marie Melchiorre with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage with, three children; Walter W. Pilger, Jr. wife Marcia, Anthony J. Pilger wife Kellie, Julie M. Pilger wife Melanie,three grandchildren; Dante Carelli, Walter W. Pilger III, Anthony J. Pilger Jr.,  brother Lee Pilger, and sister Linda Benimeli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday August 27, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1730 Fowler Ave, Berwick with Father William Barbee officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
