Thomas Lincoln (Tom L.) Bower, 75, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at his rural Berwick home. Born Jan. 12, 1945, in Berwick, he was a son of the late Clyde and Edna Mae (Samsel) Bower.
Tom graduated from Berwick High School in 1963 and on March 20, 1965, married Linda L. Kacyon, who died April 8, 2019. He grew up working on the family farm in Salem Township and held several jobs in the Berwick area before launching his paving and excavating business, Tom L. Bower Inc. In his 50s, he returned to farming and helped Linda operate Betty & Linda’s Blueberry Muffins. He was a longtime member of Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, which he served as a county director for several years.
He is survived by daughter Kimberly Bower-Spence and husband Daniel, rural Berwick; daughter Susan Lynn and husband Tyrone, rural Berwick; grandchildren Rachel Lynn Fisher and husband George, Laura Spence, Andrea Lynn Brady and husband Matt, and Ethan Spence; great-grandson Jaxson Brady; brother John R. Bower of rural Berwick; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by brothers Clyde D. and Don E. Bower.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
