Shirley M (Williams) Smith

Shirley M. Smith, 92, of Berwick passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Gardens at Orangeville. She was born August 15, 1932 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Owen and Mary (Pritchard) Williams.

She was the wife of Robert C. Smith, Sr. of Berwick, who predeceased her in 1982.

She graduated from Berwick High School class of 1950 and when she was widowed began a career in Real Estate that lasted over 20 years. Shirley was a member of Shiloh Bible Church. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, and Quiddler.

Shirley is survived by three sons: James E. Tunnessen (Jo Ann) of Miami, Florida; Keith Tunnessen  (Victoria LeVan) of Bloomsburg; Walter S. Smith (Katie) of Berwick; and a stepson Robert C. Smith, Jr., and a stepdaughter Debra Smith Grassley, both of Florida; as well as numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Shirley was also preceded in death by her brother Earle “Buddy” Williams and a sister.

Services will be Friday February 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 N. Market St., Berwick with her pastor, Pastor Doug Lyon, officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
