Shirley Yvonne Raber

On Monday November 26, 2018, Shirley Yvonne Raber, 86, closed her eyes in peace.

Born in Berwick, one of three children of the late William and Aletha (Sponenberg) Kreischer. Shirley attended Berwick Schools and proudly received her GED in 1987.

A gentle soul she enjoyed simple things- the front porch, and spending time with family and friends. While raising her children Shirley worked at Consolidated Cigar and was a long time crossing guard for the Berwick Area School District.

She is survived by four children; Sonya Balliet (Floyd) of Mountain Top, Bill Raber (Alice) of Exeter, Tom Raber (Pamela) of Berwick, Wendy Corneilous (Tim) of Berwick, and companion Clarence Sassaman of Berwick. To remember her Shirley leaves behind two brothers; Kirby Kreischer (Lucielle) of Nescopeck, and Corey Kreischer (Marcia) of Bloomsburg, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents as well as her granddaughter Kim Crouse.

A visitation will be heldThursday November 29, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Elan Memorial Park.
