Paul N. Adams, Jr., 89, formerly of Berwick, passed away peacefully 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, near Lightstreet, where he resided with his wife Helen since April 2017. He was born June 23, 1931, in Berwick, the son of the late Paul Nathaniel Adams, Sr. and Orianna (Ash) Adams. Paul is a descendent of one of the original settlers in this region, Anthony Adam, who had received land warrants from the Proprietary Land Office of Pennsylvania. Paul attended Berwick schools and was employed more than 40 years at Wise Potato Chips before retiring in 1996. He assisted his wife delivering newspapers in their neighborhood during retirement. Paul loved hunting and fishing with relatives and friends and made new friends at the nursing facility with his laughs and smiles. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Surviving Paul is his wife of 64 years, Helen (Fenstemaker), with whom he resided at the nursing home; son, Thomas, of Berwick, and companion, Evonne Cusatis; sisters: Leonora “Sis” Garrison, of Berwick; Judy and husband Patrick Schwab, of Berwick; and a brother, John R. Adams, Sr. of Summerfield, Florida; an aunt, Maude (Adams) Yeager of Hetlerville; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Due to the present Covid pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
