Marsha L (Shotwell) Bowman

Marsha L (Shotwell) Bowman was born on September 26,1942 in Berwick Pennsylvania to Wallace E Shotwell and Wanda L (Vandling) Henrie. 

Eight years later, she was followed by brothers Jay Henrie, Jeffry Henrie, Douglas Henrie, and Cynthia (Shotwell) Brown.

She graduated from Berwick High School in 1960.  Her grandmother, Verdie Vandling bought her first car, a 1953 Chevy Bel Air.  She mastered driving this car into the twin bridges at Forks with minimal damage.

In 1961, she gave birth to her only child, Gary L Bowman.  As a single mother with limited resources, she was able to maintain a fun, safe, and nurturing home.  

Marsha began work at the former Berwick Industries and continued her employment for over 50 years until her health forced her into retirement.

In her younger days, she enjoyed playing bingo. She travelled with her mother to many places and spent many summers at the family cabin in Grassmere park.  Marsha also liked to go to flea markets, collect beanie babies, root for the Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins, go to casinos,visit her granddaughter Ashley Bowman in Chicago, and watch her grandson, Adam Bowman race thoroughbred horses. 

Marsha became a great grandmother to Lily Harkless, Aubree, Quinn, Westin, and Ava Bowman.

Marsha was predeceased by her parents and most recently her sister.

In honor of her love for her grandparents, Alfred and Verdie Vandling, with whom she spent many summers, she will be laid to rest with them.

Internment will be at the convenience of the family.
