Marie O. Hummel, 91, of Berwick passed away Thursday February 18, 2016 at Berwick Retirement Village II. She was born April 16, 1924 in Rileyville, Virginia, a daughter of the late Earl and Dessie Wood.
She attended schools in Virginia. She loved planting her spring flowers, quilting, and doing wonder words. Marie was a member of West End Fire Hall Auxiliary.
Marie is survived by two children; Daniel Hummel and Elsie Williams both of Berwick, two grandsons; Shawn Williams and Scott Hummel, and four great-grandchildren; Jacob, James, Aaron, Rachel. Also a sister Elizabeth Woodring and husband Woody of Waynesboro.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband David Hummel who passed away March 12, 1996 and two brothers; Earl and Jesse Wood.
Graveside services will be Monday February 22, 2016 11:00 am at Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street with Chaplin James (Mike) Delp officiating. Family and friends can send online condolences to jameslhinckleyjrfuneralhome.com.
