John Strong Obituary

John Henry Strong, 85, of Danvers, Mass., passed away peacefully on Dec. 12, 2022, following a short illness. He was born on June 8, 1937, in New York, N.Y., the son of Jess and Mary Strong, husband to Debbie (Lopashanski) Strong, and brother to Robert.

John attended St. Francis de Sales in New York City. After high school, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Washington State. He studied accounting at Baruch College and worked for many different organizations as an accountant in the New York City area, including General Cigar, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and The Salvation Army. 

John married Debbie on April 12, 1969, and started a family in Queens. Later, they moved to Teaneck, N.J., where they raised their two children. John was a devoted husband and father and cared deeply for his extended family.  

John is survived by his son, Brendan Strong, and his wife, Claudia, of Topsfield, Mass.; daughter, Colleen Strong, and her husband, Padraig Martin, of Arlington, Mass.; and his two grandchildren, Alexander Strong and Sofia Strong.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick. Burial will follow at the Ss. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Berwick.
