Jeffery L Maurer

Jeffery L. Maurer, 72, of Nescopeck passed away on Monday March 13, 2023 at his home with his wife by his side.  He was born April 11, 1950 in Danville , PA.  He was the son of the late Rea and Ila (Foley) Maurer. Jeff was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1968, then graduated from Bloomsburg State College.  

Jeff was employed by many area businesses during and after high school, but finally pursued his passion of woodworking and for the last 40 years of his life was a self-employed Master Cabinet Maker.  His custom-made pieces of furniture and woodworking grace many homes in the Berwick, Bloomsburg, Nescopeck area, as well as homes in the Philadelphia area.  He built the home that he and his wife shared for the past 27 years, filling it with many beautiful custom pieces of furniture that he built and created all interior and exterior custom woodworking.  He truly loved his home and its peaceful and serene surroundings. Jeff enjoyed not only woodworking, and also building guns in his spare time, but mostly spending time visiting with friends, having a good laugh and solving the world’s problems in his shop and on the shop porch when weather permitted.  Those who were lucky enough to have known Jeff, will always remember his quick wit and his sense of humor, which he kept until he passed away.

Jeff is survived by his wife, the former Katrina Fisher, whom he married August 3, 1985, and his beloved dog, Mae. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother, Terry Maurer.

Family will receive friends on Saturday April 15, 2023 from 10:00 am until noon at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
