Howard "Bud" Martz Obituary

Howard T. “Bud” Martz,90, of Mifflinville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

Born July 4, 1935, in Berwick, he was a son of the late Raymond and Sarah (Church) Martz.

Bud graduated from Berwick High School in 1955. His commitment to his country was evident when he served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1964, receiving an honorable discharge for his dedicated service. Bud's work ethic shone brightly throughout his career as an electrician at Wise Potato Chips, where he retired after 62 years of faithful service.

An active member of his community, Bud's faith was central to his life. He was a member of the Shiloh Bible Church Almedia Bloomsburg. His service extended to organizations like the American Legion Post 273, the Espy Fire Company, and various food drives where he contributed his time and talents. Bud's passion for history and service was evident in his role as gate security at the Bloomsburg Fair for 30 years, a position he held with pride and dedication.

Bud enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid hunter, history war buff, and loved watching sports.

Bud's life was marked by his enduring love for his wife, Florence H. (Albertson) Martz. Their 63 years of marriage were filled with mutual support, laughter, and unwavering companionship. He was a brother to Gertrude Singley of Millville and a loving uncle to his nieces Kathie, Cindy, Tammy, and Valicity.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Frank Martz, and sisters, Peggy Ferguson and Sarah Hough.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no services.
