Esther (Huntington) Hoagland

Esther (Huntington) Hoagland, 97, of Bloomsburg, passed away Jan. 21, 2021, at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation, where she had been a resident since 2019. She was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Lime Ridge, a daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Gulliver) Huntington. 

She graduated from Bloomsburg High School and worked at Berwick Hospital and Columbia Montour Area Vocational School as a cook. Esther loved gardening and cooking.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Helen Horne, of Nescopeck; son, John Hoagland, of Nescopeck; grandson, Timothy Horne, of Pottstown; brother, R. Edward Huntington, of Berwick; and two sisters: Helen Hunsinger and Edna Eroh, both of Mifflinville.

Esther was preceded in death by husband, Robert Hoagland; sister, Mary Sponenberg; and two brothers: William and Clifford Huntington.
