Eric Wolf Obituary

Eric Howard Wolf, 75, of Conyngham, PA passed away on November 21st surrounded by family. Born in Hanau, Germany, a son of the late Helmut Wolf and Ethel (Hannon) Mosby.

Eric immigrated to the United States where he graduated from Frankfurt American High School. He later joined the military and was a proud veteran who served in both the United States Army and Air Force Reserves. His career was distinguished by two tours in Vietnam and numerous accolades, including a bronze star for his bravery and service. Following his military career, he worked as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA in both Buffalo, NY and Pittsburg, PA. After holding the picket line with nearly 13,000 fellow Air Traffic Controllers during the 1981 strike, President Reagan declared the strike illegal and fired over 11,000 controllers, including Eric, as well as implementing a lifetime ban from re-employment with the FAA.

Eric and his family found a fresh start in Berwick, PA where he dedicated 28 years to the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station and retired as a Radiological Operations Supervisor. He also received a master's degree from the University of Phoenix during that time.

Eric was a bilingual and worldly man with a passion for flying. After a solo flight at the age of 10 from Germany to Nigeria, he was hooked. He visited 6 of the 7 continents in his lifetime putting his photography skills to work to document all of his world travels. He was adventurous with food, shows and experiences. He lived big and full.

Eric is survived and deeply loved by his daughters Susan A. Eisenhauer of Berwick, PA, Stephanie A. Wolf and husband Jesse E. Hilton of Etters, PA, and granddaughter Analiese M. Eisenhauer, of Philadelphia PA. As well as two half-sisters; Brigitte Wolf, Irene Wolf, both of Germany, and four step siblings; Gayle LaHusen of Oregon, Jeannette Barber of Oregon, Richard Mosby of Oregon, Dianna Ottoboni of Washington.

Respecting Eric’s wishes, there will not be a public service. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

If you’d like to honor Eric’s memory, a donation can be made to Animal Resource Center of Bloomsburg at nokillarc.org or Cure Alzheimer’s Fund at curealz.org, two causes close to his heart. Eric’s legacy of kindness, loyalty, friendship and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
