Elaine Edith (Maier) Wert

Elaine Edith Wert, 84, of Berwick passed away August 3, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born October 1, 1936 in Berwick a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Naus) Maier.

She graduated from Berwick High School and received her CNA license, where she worked and retired from Danville State Hospital. Elaine also worked for the Welfare Department in Columbia County. Elaine enjoyed sketching, drawing, and interior decorating. She loved anything to do with arts and crafts.

Elaine is survived by her five daughters; Myrtle “Micki” Pursel of Berwick, Annette Pickett of Wapwallopen, Yvonne Pursel Diehl and husband Rodney of Berwick, Mildred Traver husband Gary of Berwick, Nancy Davis husband Russell of Berwick, and lots of grandchildren and great-grandchilren. As well as brothers Carl Maier of Berwick, Robert “Bobby” Maier of Berwick, and sister Janice and Ruth.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Luther Manley Wert, who passed away February 16, 2015, son Delbert Leroy Pursel, and sister Martha.
