Dotty J. Hopper 67, of Berwick, went to be with the Lord, Sunday February 20, 2022, at the Gardens of Orangeville, surrounded by her loving family.
Dotty was born, July 7, 1954, in Nanticoke, daughter of Richard Davenport and the late Catherine (Jones) Davenport, in addition to her mother she was preceded in death by son, Charles (Butch) Hopper, grandson, Travis Potter, and sister, Laurel Davenport-Rinehimer.
Dotty attended Berwick High School, then graduated top of her class from Geisinger School of Nursing. For over 20 years, she selflessly cared for patients, most being in hospice care. Dotty was an avid animal lover, enjoyed riding motorcycle, and searching for treasures at flea markets. Her ultimate joy was spending time with her family.
Dotty is survived by her husband of 51 years, Terry L. Hopper Sr., her father, Richard Davenport Sr., three sons, Terry L. Hopper Jr. (and wife Cathy), Michael Hopper (and wife Kelly), James Hopper (and wife Pauline), two daughters, Leasa Hopper, and Shery Hopper-Davis (and husband Harry). She has seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Dotty has four brothers, Richard Davenport, William (Bill) Davenport, Thomas Davenport, and John Davenport.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday February 23, 2022, at 11:00 am, at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc, 1024 N. Market Street, Berwick PA 18603, with a burial to follow at the local Pinegrove Cemetery on Walnut Street. Family and friends are respectfully invited to honor the life of Dotty J. Hopper. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by an 11:00 am service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to an Alzheimer's or Dementia Association.
