Doris L. (Yeager) Sarge

Doris L. Sarge, 89, of Berwick passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Mountain Top Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center where she resided briefly after her long term stay at Celebration Villa. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, D. Lamar Sarge, Jr. on June 17, 2018.

Born October 4, 1936, in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Florence (Persing) Yeager.

Doris was a 1954 graduate of Shamokin High School. She formerly worked at Salem Elementary School as a cafeteria worker and teachers aid.

Doris was a woman of faith and attended the former Emmanual Bible Chapel and recently attended Shiloh Bible Church. She enjoyed babysitting, sewing, baking, puzzles, and camping. Most of all, Doris loved and cherished spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children Daniel L. Sarge, III (April) of Berwick, Lori A. Bean of Nescopeck, and Scott A. Sarge (Shelli) of Nescopeck; five grandchildren Amanda Slusser (David), Andrew Sarge (Haley), Brent Harmon, Shannon Watson (Michael), and Nicole Sarge; three great-grandchildren Liam, Jayden, and Jackson.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother Morris “Bud” Yeager and two sisters, Betty Sheetz and Alma Thomas.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 19 at James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market Street, Berwick with Pastor Bob Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doris’ name to the Shiloh Bible Church 3146 Old Berwick Road Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
