D. Curt Mills, 76, of Berwick, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at Maria Hall in Danville.
He was born March 14, 1943, in Altoona, a son of the late Deatlef and Thelma Mills.
Curt served in the United States Navy from 1961 until 1966. He started working for PPL as a laborer in 1969, and retired in 1998, as a Regional Manager. He is an active member of the Bloomsburg American Legion Post 273 and the Berwick V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 821, where he actively participated in all V.F.W. sponsored activities. He also belonged to various organizations throughout the area over the years.
When he was younger, he enjoyed camping, boating and water skiing. He also enjoyed woodworking, taking care of his home and yard. He enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State University football. He also enjoyed collecting anything of Penn State’s and the American Eagle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lois Mills, who passed in 2002; and a sister, Marie Williams.
He is survived by a son, David Mills, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a daughter, Christine Del Grosso of Newport News, Va.; and a stepdaughter, Brenda Yeager, of Natalie; five grandchildren; sister, Sallie Dersham, of Tyrone; and his companion, Fran Robbinson, of Lake Ariel.
A celebration of life will be Sunday, March 1, 2020, at 2 p.m. at James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1024 N. Market St., Berwick. Burial will be at Northumberland Memorial. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
