Arietta Varner Obituary

Arietta A. Varner 95, of Berwick, went to be with the Lord, Thursday June 4, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born, April 23, 1925, in Hubley, Schuylkill County, a daughter of the late, George A. and Grace Annie (Herb) Bowman, in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Samuel H. Russ who passed on August 20, 1986, son Dwight Charles Russ who passed in  1947, and sister Katherine Arlene Hornberger.

Arietta was a graduate of Hubley Township High School, where she was the last of her graduating class. She belonged to the Berwick Christian Church. Arietta enjoyed reading, cross stich, playing piano, painting and also serving her Church family.

Arietta is survived by her husband Ronald Varner whom she married on October 4, 1989, two daughters, Doreen Patricia Russ of Bloomsburg, Crystal J. Russ Fitzpatrick and her husband Jim of Levittown, step daughter Sandy Pearse of Sugarloaf, three grandchildren; Russ Graeber, Amy Grace Payne, Cheri Lynn Paul, three step-grandchildren; Sherrene Ann Mackey, Michael Patrick Pearse, Mary Dolores Hess, three great-grandchildren; Ashley Graeber, Codi Payne, Samuel Brown, eight step-great-grandchildren, and five step-great-great grandchildren

Services will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Berwick Christian Church General Fund, at 701 E. 5th St. Berwick Pa. 18603.
