Anthony “Tony” P. Conmy, 59, passed peacefully, yet suddenly, in his sleep Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
Tony was born March 15, 1964, to Joan M. (Maro) Conmy and John P. Conmy, in Lock Haven, PA, the eldest son of a set of identical twins.
He was raised in Scranton, PA where he attended Bishop Hannon High School.
After high school, he proudly served for 11 years in the US Navy, where he was part of the recommissioning crew of the US Missouri. He sailed around the world on the USS Missouri and often boasted of his adventures aboard while proudly serving his country.
Tony’s greatest accomplishment, though, was being a loving and caring father to both Shauna M. Conmy and Carter A. Conmy.
Tony was an avid cat lover (big and small) and was a loving Cat Dad to Odessa, Kara and Smoky.
Tony was previously a Boy Scout Leader, which he enjoyed immensely.
His great passion in life was reenactment, though. He enjoyed many years of events, encampments, and spending time with friends within the Society of Creative Anachronism.
While serving in the Navy in California, Tony was a founding member of The Adrian Empire, which has since become a countrywide reenactment Society, where he has made even more wonderful friends.
Tony now joins his beloved mother, Joan, his beloved younger brother John P. (JP) Conmy, Jr. his beloved grandparents Anthony and Frances Maro and his father, John P. Conmy in peaceful rest.
His memory will be carried forward by his children, his closest and dearest friends, his twin brother, Thomas P. Conmy, his stepmother, Marie S. Conmy, nieces, nephews and loving cousins.
The family would like to thank the employees of Warm Hearts Home Care Agency for caring for Mr. Tony so incredibly well these past years.
Tony will be interred at Fort Indiantown Gap, with full military honors on Friday October 27, 2023, at 10:00 am.
