Rosalie M. (Ratamess) Komola

Rosalie M. Komola 83, of Berwick, died July 11, 2018 in her home with close family and friends. She was born December 13, 1934 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Leo C. and Mary E. (Stevens) Ratamess Sr.

She graduated from Berwick High School class of 1952 and the Pottstown Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. Following nursing school she moved to Washington D.C. where she worked as a surgical nurse at Doctor’s Hospital.  She married Mike Komola on September 2, 1961 in Berwick. They moved to Oakland, CA for several years before returning to Washington D.C. in 1963 and she went back to work at the Doctor’s Hospital. Rosalie returned to Berwick in June 1974 following the death of her husband. She was a Nurse Manager for the operating room and central supply at Berwick Hospital Center until her retirement in 1994.  In retirement, she traveled extensively in the United States and Europe. She was most joyful when she was spending time with her grandsons during annual visits to Washington State, planning and prepping family dinners, and any occasion she could be with her family and friends.

Rosalie is survived by her son Michael A. Komola and his wife Nancy and grandsons Michael James and Alexander Joseph Leo Komola of Redmond, WA. She is also survived by her sister Pam Morris and husband Gary of Kissimmee FL, their daughter Lori Lima and her daughter Megan also of Kissimmee FL, Matthew L. Ratamess of Berwick and Brooklyn, NY, Keith A. Ratamess of Falcon, NC, and Scott A. Ratamess of Effingham, SC, sons of her late brother Leo C. Ratamess, Jr.

Services will be held Saturday July 21, 2018 at 11:00 am at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick with Father Dennis Dalessandro officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service.
