Richard E. Lynch, 93, of Berwick passed away Friday June 1, 2018 at Bloomsburg Care Center and Rehabilitation. He was born October 9, 1924 in Berwick, a son of the late Walter and Valeria (Bower) Lynch.
He graduated from Berwick High School and then joined the United States Marines during World War II. where he was a Master Sargent. Richard was a member of the Berwick VFW Post 821, Berwick Elks, and the Berwick Moose. He enjoyed golfing and was a dog lover.
Richard is survived by three children; Deborah Young and husband Daniel of Bloomsburg, Richard E. Lynch II. and wife Karen of Dunmore, PA, Randall Lynch of Orangeville, two step-daughters; Susan Carey of Mt. Carmel, Patricia Bourdelais and husband John of Denver, CO, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and sister Sandra Pollock of Berwick.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife the former Shirley Kehl who passed away in 2006, and son Scott Carey.
Services will Wednesday June 6, 2018 at 2:00 pmat the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick with Pastor Timothy Smith of Calvary Baptist officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until time of service.
