Paul Troiani Jr. Obituary

Paul Troiani Jr. passed away on March 10, 2019, at 11:45 p.m., while surrounded by his family and close friends. Paul was a 1963 graduate of Berwick High School, after which he married the love of his life, Terry (Pollick), with whom he celebrated over 53 years of marriage.
He served his country in Vietnam, working on the Decca Navigator system and reaching Specialist-5 rank in the Army division. He retired in 2009 after nearly 40 years of working as a maintenance supervisor at Del Monte Foods.
As a result of his strong moral compass, sarcastic and witty humor, and genuine spirit, he was loved by many. He was one of the first eucharistic ministers at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Maria Assunta Society. Paul had a strong sense of his Italian heritage and traditions: He enjoyed celebrating with his extended family and specialized in the art of liqueur-crafting, with his favorites including Rattafia and Limoncello. The “Holy Rollers” of St. Joseph’s Church valued Paul as a member of their meatball-frying team.
He also loved traveling, having visited the majority of countries in Europe, and Massa de Carrara and Rocca Viviin Italy held a special place in his heart. His generosity was also evident in his travels: Mr. Troiani was made an honorary chief of the Igbo tribe after donating a water well to a Nigerian town. Paul could be found most days tinkering in his garage, working on his vintage Chrysler or Aermacchi Harley, woodworking or soldering — there was nothing that he couldn’t fix.
His beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of his wife, Terry Troiani (Pollick); and children: Renata Troiani Seergae and husband Edward of Baltimore, Md., Vanessa Troiani and husband James Connolly of Lewisburg, Paul Troiani III of Harrisburg, Alicia Troiani and husband Victor Esquivel, Michele Troiani and partner Anthony Gambucci, and Teresa Troiani, all of Berwick. His legacy will be further lived through his grandchildren: Renata (Troiani) Evans, Joshua, Lydie, Blayde and Zayden Troiani, Isabella, Spencer and Chloe Seergae, Cecilia Esquivel Troiani, and Quinn and Callen Connolly Troiani; and great-grandchildren: Thomas and Kaylee Evans.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Troiani Sr. and Joan (Rocchini) Troiani of Berwick; and two grandchildren: Christopher Troiani and Paul Troiani IV.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 19, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 721 Monroe St., Berwick, PA 18603, with his pastor, the Rev. Matthew Larlick, officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, March 18, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St.,Berwick.
