Michael R Yalch

Michael R. Yalch, 76, of Laceyville Pa. and formerly of Berwick went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was born March 16, 1942 in Berwick, a son of the late Michael and Jennie (Dellegrotto) Yalch.

Mike graduated from Berwick High School class of 1960. He served in the Army during the Vietnam conflict. He worked for Con’s Supply’s formerly of Berwick. He was a member of the American Legion at Black Walnut Post 510, the Berwick Elks, The Rangers Fire Company, and the Garibaldi Club of Berwick. He was past President of the Ranger Fire Co., and a former trustee at the Berwick Elks. He loved Berwick Football and was a member of the Chain Gang. Michael was instrumental in starting the class of 1960’s reunions at Berwick High School. 

Michael is survived by Rose Villa Yalch of Berwick who he was married to for 25 years, three children; Michele A Minier and husband Dean of Benton, Joselle Bower and husband Philip of Orlando, Fl, Joseph Yalch and wife Donna of Southport North Carolina, eight grandchildren; Shawna Rooker, Dean Minier Jr., Ethan Minier, Ben Bower, Jenna Bower, Adam Yalch, Brandon and Megan McGirt, and several great-grandchildren. As well as sister Joanne Boyle and husband Michael of Raleigh, NC, two brothers; Ron Yalch and wife Barbara of Northport, AL, and John Yalch and wife Dawne of Lebanon, PA. As well as numerous nieces, nephews. He will be sadly missed by Bill and Denny, and his crew at Laceyville.

Services will be Saturday August 18, 2018 at 11:00 am at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick with Father Francis Tamburro officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service.
