Michael Joseph Kenney Jr.

Michael Joseph Kenney Jr., 84, of Berwick passed Monday December 30, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born August 7, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pa, a son of the late Michael J. Kenney Sr. and Louise (Ludwig) Kenney.

He graduated from Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia and went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from John Carol University. After graduating from John Carol University he joined the United States Army. Mike enjoyed running, and going to the gym. He loved watching Philadelphia sports and Notre Dame Football. He enjoyed listening to music, eating good food, traveling (especially to California), and taking pictures. He was also a member of St. Joseph Church, Berwick.

Michael is survived by four children; Susan Tissot husband Anthony of Danville, Michele Kenney partner Rob Wenrich of Berwick, Michael Kenney III. wife Amber of Bloomsburg, and Christopher Kenney of Kingston, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two brothers; Ray Kenney wife Lynne, and Walter Kenney partner Betty, all of Philadelphia.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife the former Lois Weidensaul, who passed away in 2006, and daughter Nancy Behney, who passed away in 2004.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be January 4, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 721 Monroe St, Berwick, PA 18603 with Rev Matthew Larlick officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Pine Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
