Kay Y. (Haas) Kondercheck

Kay Y. Konderchek, 76, of Berwick gained her angel wings on Wednesday April 3, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born November 14, 1942 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Elaine Haas.

She graduated from Berwick High School and worked at as an inspector at Decorator Industries. Kay was a member of Stone Church United Methodist Church. Kay and her husband Russell enjoyed traveling down South, going to Indian pow-wows. They were avid country music fans, even going to Jonny Cash and Loretta Lynn’s houses. Kay enjoyed being outdoors.

Kay is survived by three daughters; Deborah Rowe husband Timothy of St. Albans, West Virginia, Janet Moore companion Walter Remley Sr. of Beach Haven, Nancy Neyhard of Berwick, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers; Randy Cool wife Pat of Sugarloaf, Ronald Cool of Florida, sister Cathy Slusser of Mt. Carmel, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell “Russ” Kondercheck, who passed away June 22, 2000, and son Wayne Kondercheck, who passed away in 1984.

Services will be Tuesday April 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick, with her pastor, Pastor Robert Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Monday April 8, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
