Joseph P. Kitta Sr. 86, of Berwick, went to be with the Lord, Monday September 23, 2019, at the Gardens at Millville.
Joseph was born March 26, 1933, in Berwick, a son of the late Joseph and Kathryn (Kita) Kitta. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by two brothers Edmund and Chester Kitta and three sisters, Cynthia Stofko, Genny Poplawski and Josephine Kitta.
Joseph was a graduate of Berwick High School class of 1952. Joe served in the Army and was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church. He worked for Wise Potato Chips for over 49 years. He was a member of the Berwick Elks Lodge 1138. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing, and belonged to a hunting camp in Clinton County.
Joseph is survived by his wife, the former Marqueen (Miller) Kitta whom he married on June 4, 1960, a son Joseph Kitta of Berwick and a daughter Kathy Carper of Berwick.. Four grandchildren Shannon Roberts, Brittany Smith, Kristen and Kelsey Kitta. Two great grandchildren Nora and Xilas.
Services will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 26, 2019, at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 1024 N. Market St. Berwick Pa. 18603, with Reverend Francis Tamburro officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of services.
