Glenn Franklin Padgett, 72, of Berwick, went to be with His Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at his home, after his courageous battle with cancer.

He was a 1964 graduate of Memphis Technical High School and from the University of Memphis in 1975 with a degree in Microbiology. He worked over 40 years as a Food Scientist in Quality Assurance.  His last affiliation brought him to Berwick, Pa area to co-manage the Pet Products in Bloomsburg in 2000. He retired in 2011. Glenn married his wife, Margaret Lee Banks, of Lexington, NC, in May of 1978. They had two sons, Christian Lee Padgett of Swanton, VT and Daniel Edward Padgett of Berwick, PA.

Glenn had many interests. He was an outdoor person, who loved to fish and hunt. His greatest times were being with his hunting buddies during the deer season. He always had great stories to share when he got back home. He loved to sing. Glenn sang in the Church Choirs and on Praise Teams and was a member of community Choral Societies. He loved to cook fancy food and had a special love for grilling Southern Style pork BBQ ribs. He loved to land scape and to garden. The gardens were always full of many floral colors and tasty vegetables.

Glenn was a devoted, faithful Christian. He was involved in prison ministry for several years locally and in other states. He was a member of NC Church on Kachinka Hollow Rd. in Berwick.

Glenn was a loving and committed husband and father to his family. Family by far, was the most important thing to him in this life. He especially loved to spend time with his boys. He will be greatly missed.  Surviving him is his wife Margaret, of Berwick, along with his two sons, Christian Lee Padgett and his wife, Danielle of Swanton, VT, Daniel Edward Padgett and his wife, Tracey of Berwick, three grandchildren; James Padgett and Daniel Padgett Jr., both of Berwick and Brieana Padgett of Swanton, VT; a sister Margaret Shon of Oxford, Mississippi, two sister-in-law’s, Brenda and husband James Barton of Lexington, NC, Patricia and her husband James Browder of St. Stephen, SC.  He will be leaving behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
