Doris L. (Haines) Belles

Doris L. Belles, 94, of Berwick, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Russell and Mary (Davis) Haines.

She graduated from Berwick High School, Class of 1942. Doris worked for many years as a bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Dick Belles Autobody. She enjoyed crafts and spending summers at Sylvan Lake. She also loved to play golf. She liked Penn State, Rutgers and Berwick football, and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Doris is survived by a son, Richard A. “Rick” Belles, and wife, Cathy, two daughters: Randee Linsinbigler and Jan Laubach, husband, Dick, all of Berwick; grandchildren: Carly, Kriste and her husband, Craig, Father Harry and his wife, Carrie, Lance and his wife, Kristine, Kim and her husband, Jonathon, Erick and his wife, Lisa, Scott and his wife, Christy;  great-grandchildren: Harry, Alexis, Elisabeth, Emily, Brodin, Jillian, Lily, Ella, Hadley, Carter, and Cooper, Jett and Jack; a sister, Connie Baxter, of Louisville, Ky.; and nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, Richard P. Belles, who passed away Nov. 25, 2011; brother, Donald Haines; and a son-in-law, Harry Linsinbigler Jr.

Services will be Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019, at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick, at 11 a.m. with her grandson, Father Harry Linsinbigler, officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1600 Fowler Ave., Berwick, PA 18603.
