Barry McMurtrie Obituary

Barry Lee McMurtrie, 73, of Bloomsburg passed away Friday July 20, 2018 at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Bloomsburg. He was born June 19, 1945, in Hetlerville, a son of the late Calvin Dale and Winifred (Slusser) McMurtrie.

He graduated from Central Columbia High School and worked at Wise Potato Chips. Barry was a member of Camp Lebo in North Bend, Thunderbird Car Club, and a former member of Ranger Fire Company. Barry enjoyed gardening, going to car shows, hunting, going to flea markets, playing cards, going to the cabin, and spending time with family.

Barry is survived by his son Brian McMurtrie of Bloomsburg, step-daughter Paula Kaiser and companion Ken Andreas of Bloomsburg, three grandchildren; Kaitlyn Kaiser, Hannah Beyer, Kennedy Andreas. As well as three brothers; Donald McMurtrie and wife Sandra of Berwick, Lloyd McMurtrie and wife Shirley of Fairport, NY, David McMurtie and wife Helen of Berwick, and four sisters; Dorothy Larock and husband Donald of Sugarloaf, Audrey Bower and husband George of Mifflinville, Gladys Nevius of Bloomsburg, and Shirley Napierski of Bloomsburg.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife the former Donna L. Yendrytzka who passed away January 31, 2015, sister Janet Kline and brother Arlo McMurtrie.

Services will be held Monday July 23, 2017 at 11:00 am at James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
