Antal “Thomas” R. Nagy, 78, of Bloomsburg died on Saturday January 4, 2020 at the Gardens at Orangeville. He was born on October 22, 1941 in Berwick, a son of the late Antal Nagy Jr. and June (Hawk) Nagy.
He graduated from Berwick High School, and then joined the United States Army. He trained at Fort Knox and served from 1960-1966, during the Cuban Crisis. Tom was employed by Consolidated Cigar Corp from 1960-1985 and at Magee Carpet until his retirement. He was a member of the Bloomsburg American Legion Post 273, and the Bloomsburg Moose. Tom enjoyed watching football and was a lifetime Minnesota Vikings fan.
In 1974, Tom married Doris Anna Boudman, they shared 45 wonderful years together until her passing on October 21, 2019.
Tom is survived by his closest friends Mark and Laura Martz of Berwick, sister-in-law Donna Kay Hartman and husband Dave of Benton, two granddaughters; Shanna Butler and Shayla Hendricks of Georgia, two great-granddaughters; Abby and Alissa of Georgia, and stepdaughter Debby Hendricks of Georgia.
A private memorial service for both Tom and Doris will be held at a later date at New Rosemont Cemetery in Bloomsburg. Family and friends may send online condolences to jameslhinckleyjrfuneralhome.com.
