Theodore E. Rizzo

Theodore E. Rizzo, 87, of Berwick passed away Friday November 3, 2017 at Berwick Retirement Village II. He was born April 22, 1930 in Folcroft, PA, a son of the late Clement and Elizabeth (Holgate) Rizzo.

He graduated from Ridley High School class of 1948 and then joined the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Theodore worked for Scott Paper as a machinist. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. He was also very athletic – including running, jogging and lifting weights.

Theodore is survived by his wife the former Pauline Stefany, whom he married June 26, 1953, three children; Phillip E. Rizzo and wife Melinda of Quakertown, PA, Theodore A. Rizzo and wife Vickymarie of Robesonia, PA, and Julia M. Briggs and husband Brent of Kintnersville, PA, seven grandchildren; Samantha, Teddy, Freddy, Adam, Josh, Jake, Val, and two great-granddaughters Julyana and Kayla and his beloved Mastiff Mugsy.

Theodore was preceded in death by his parents as well as two brothers George and Clem Rizzo, and five sisters; Dorothy “Dot” Kardasz, Elizabeth Schubert, Pauline Jones, Edith Berkowitz, and Mazie Roe.

Services will be Wednesday November 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick with Rev. Tony Rizzo, his nephew officiating. Burial will follow Colley Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Salvation Army 320 W 2nd St, Berwick, Pa 18603.
