Stephen James Tanner

Stephen James Tanner, 63, of Berwick passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at home. He was born July 3, 1953 in Santa Monica, Cal., a son of the late Morton and Joan Husch Neiger Tanner.

He attended Cal State University and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Talen Energy. Stephen enjoyed watching TV and sports (any team from Los Angeles).

Stephen was preceded in death by his daughter Trisha Gutchen.

Stephen is survived by his wife Candice L. Harris with whom he married September 9, 1977, two sons; Lincoln Tanner of Berwick, Shaun Tanner and his wife Stephanie of Kentucky, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and sister Nancy and her husband Larry of California.

Memorial service will be Thursday at 2:00 pm at James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 1024 North Market St. Berwick, Pa 18603.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.  Friends unable to attend may send condolences at www.jameslhinckleyjrfuneralhome.com.
