Sherye L. (Knouse) Newman

Sherye L. Newman, 73, of Berwick, went to be with her Lord November 20, 2015 at her son’s residence surrounded by her family. She was born October 15, 1942 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Roland E. and Minni C. (Spiece) Knouse.

                She graduated from Nescopeck High School. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, and going camping with her husband and sons. Every Sunday was her favorite day, and everyone of her son’s visited with her at separate times during the morning. Her favorite time of year was fall, and she traveled extensively.

                Sherye is survived by her husband Barry M. Newman Sr., with whom she married in 1963. As well as four children; Barry M. Newman Jr. and wife Lisa, Jim L. Newman and wife Lori, Marc C. Newman and wife Marcey all of Berwick, and Stevon M. Newman and wife Diane of Nescopeck. Also seven grandchildren; Justin, Dylan, Braedon, Austin, Sawyer, Genna, and Lucy.

                Sherye was preceded in death by her parents as well as a brother Ronald I. Knouse.

                Services will be at the convenience of the family at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Wapwallopen with Pastor Jim Stanley officiating. Gathering of family and friends will be Saturday November 28, 2015 at 1:00 pm at 226 Park Blvd., Berwick, PA 18603.
