Nancy L. (McGaw) Hess

Nancy L. Hess 77, of Berwick, went to be with the Lord Tuesday February 27, 2018 at the Geisinger Medical Center Danville Pa; surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born November 3, 1940 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Fredrick and Dora (Larish) McGaw. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elwood C. Hess in 2000, a daughter Tammy Hamilton 2012also by two sisters Sally Saltori and Dorothy Ernest.

A graduate of Bloomsburg High School, Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Nancy was a homemaker who loved helping others. She volunteered at the Salvation Army, where she worked in the soup kitchen and with the youth group. She was also involved with the annual Toys for Tots program. Nancy enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s sports activities and playing bingo. She was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Nancy is survived by her four children, her son Elwood C. Hess and his wife Vicki of Berwick, three daughters Nancy May and her husband Allen of Nanticoke, Tina Jenkins and her husband William  and Donna Hess all of Berwick. Nine grandchildren, Donna, Billie Jo, Bobbi Jo, Matthew, Douglas, Tiffany, Megan, Jason and Charlie.

All are welcome to join Nancy’s family at her Funeral Monday March 5, 2018, at 11:00 am at the James L. Hinckley Jr Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 1024 N. Market St. Berwick Pa. 18603. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 am till time of service. Major Sheryl Hershey of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Nancy’s memory may be sent to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
