Mary A. Bower

Mary A. Bower, 89, of Berwick passed away Thursday September 29, 2016 at Berwick Retirement Village. She was born August 13, 1927 in Berwick a daughter of the late Delbert Lemont and Uella Irene (Confer) Bower.

She attended Berwick Schools and then worked and retired from Berwick Knitting Mills. Mary enjoyed doing ceramics, painting, rummaging, playing pinochle, going camping, going to Knoebels, and loved going to the fair.

Mary is survived by seven siblings; Darvin Bower, Elaine Johns, Geraldine Hartman, Charlotte Fowler, Cora Gascon, Bonnie Kingston, Sarah “Sally” Miller, and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents as well as eight siblings; Etta Marquire Bower, Robert Bower, Donald Bower, Delbert Bower, Velma Fetterman, Dora Diltz, Elvin Bower, and Harold Bower.

Services will be Tuesday October 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick with Hospice Chaplain Mike Delp officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street. Family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of service.
