Marlin G. Henrie, 78, of Berwick passed away Friday February 17, 2017 into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. He was born December 10, 1938, in Orangeville, a son of the late O. Dale and Sadie (Albertson) Henrie.

He graduated from Berwick High School and then worked for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 for over 35 years. Marlin was a former member of Summerhill United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school for many years. He was a life member of Summerhill Fire Co., and a current member of Evansville United Methodist Church. Marlin was a masonic member of Knapp Lodge of Berwick, Bloomsburg Caldwell Consistory, and Irem Shrine of Wilkes-Barre.

Marlin is survived by his wife the former Ruth Ann Schell, whom he married May 23, 1958, four children; Debra Sandherr and husband Joseph of Emmaus, PA, Marlin D. Henrie and wife Teri of Nescopeck, James Henrie and wife Rose of Drums, and Judith Lynn and husband Thomas of Berwick. As well as ten grandchildren; Jessica Johnson, Jason Singley, Janelle Brabazon, Megan Post, Brandon Henrie, Manny Henrie, Joshua Henrie, Grace Henrie, Amy Hontz, and Katie Lynn, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Marlin was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sister Marie Naugle, and brother Earl Henrie.

Marlin loved life and loved his family. He was a kind caring and compassionate man, helping family friends and strangers all of his life. He has been a great blessing to his family.

Services will be Saturday February 25, 2017 at 11:00 am at James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc, 1024 Market St, Berwick with Pastor Jess Shingler officiating. Burial will follow at Summerhill Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday February 24, 2017 at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Masonic Services will be Friday at 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be sent to Hope Center, 650 Harter Ave, Nescopeck, PA 18635.
