Louis Kiliti, 89, of Berwick, passed away Monday June 13, 2016 at his residence. He was born September 4, 1926 in Berwick, a son of the late Stephen and Karolina (Farkus) Kiliti. He attended the Berwcik schools and was a member of Stone United Methodist Church. Louis lived on the family farm for 52 years before moving to his daughter’s house on Kiliti Road.

Lou served in the Seabees at the end of World War II. He worked at Berwick Weaving, Inc. from 1942-1954 as a loom repairman. He then became partner in Penn Lacquard Co. in 1968. He also worked for Weave Corporation until 1983.

Lou’s constant companion was Kelly, his border collie, who followed him all around the farm. He enjoyed raising pigs and Herford beef cattle. His family also helped him process deer for a number of years. He was also able to travel to his homeland of Hungary where he met family members for the first time.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Louis A. Kiliti, June 11, 1984, one brother, Stephen, and three sisters, Mary Jurbala, Rose Bachan, and Julia Cuccia.

He is survived by his wife the former Anna Jean Smethers, with home he observed a 60th wedding anniversary on January 17, 2016; one daughter, Donna Harris and husband Douglas; one son, David Kiliti and wife Marilee, five granddaughters: April Harris Snyder and husband Matthew, Ginny Harris Crake and husband Stephen, Megan and Emilee Kiliti, Amber Ahmad and husband Haseeb, and four great-grandsons, Harrison, Everett, Henry Snyder and Russell Crake, and one great-granddaughter Karolena Crake all of Berwick.

Services will be Saturday June 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc, 1024 Market St., Berwick with Pastor Strother Gross officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am till time of service.
