Laura Audrey Crouse

Laura Audrey Crouse, 95, of Susquehanna Avenue, Berwick, died Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Berwick Retirement Village II where she had been a resident for the past few weeks.  She had been in failing health for the past several months.

Born, December 14, 1920, in Nescopeck, she was a daughter of the late Luther L. and Mabel Ryman Crouse. 

Laura worked for many years at the Treon Buick car dealership and later at the Wenner Buick car dealership.  Subsequently, she worked at Wise Foods in the office. 

She was a lifelong Lutheran, first at Trinity Lutheran Church, which merged to become Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Berwick, where she was on the Church Council for many years and sang in the choir.  She was also very active in Berwick United Way, American Red Cross, Business and Professional Women, International Association of Administrative Professionals, and a charter member of the National Home Gardening Club.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her sister, Alberta C. Crouse, with whom she made her home in Berwick.  Surviving her are cousins, namely, Carole Bankes and Gloria Lockard.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 11:00 AM, from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1600 Fowler Avenue, Berwick, with the Rev. David Kingsborough, her pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery, West Front Street, Berwick.  Visitation for friends will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
