Jean Mae Eyer Bredbenner, a lifelong resident of Berwick, passed away on March 20, 2017, at the age of 104. Born in Berwick on November 24, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Bruce W. and Grace (Sutliff) Eyer.

She graduated from Berwick High School in 1930, and Bloomsburg State Teachers College in 1934. She married the love of her life, William C. Bredbenner, Jr., on March 28, 1936, and they enjoyed 60 years together before his death in December 1996.

Jean was a member of Bloomsburg University Alumnae Association, the Oklawaha (Florida) Chapter of the DAR, the United Methodist Church of Berwick, & AARP.

Surviving are a son, Reginald D. Bredbenner (Nancy), a daughter, Patricia J. Poska, a faithful and dedicated surrogate son, Dean Bowman, five grandchildren; Karen Bredbenner, Susan Farbenbloom (Yaniv), William J. Poska, Jr, Stephen A. Poska, Gregory J. Poska (Elizabeth), five great-grandchildren; Kaela & Caden Farbenbloom, William J. Poska,lll (Rachelle), Zoey & Kara Willhide, and great-great grand-daughter, Edith Marie Poska.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, and son-in-law Wiliiam Poska Sr.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 11:00 am at Pine Grove Cemetery, Market St. with the Reverend Tom Jones officiating.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 200 N Market St, Berwick, PA 18603.
