Iris A (Crane) Whitmire

Iris A. Whitmire, 70, of Berwick passed away Tuesday May 3, 2016 at Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center. She was born August 15, 1945 in Muhlenberg, a daughter of the late Vernon and Dorothy (Robbins) Crane.  
She graduated from Tunkhannock High School. Iris enjoyed knitting and reading books.
Iris is survived by her husband Fred, whom she married April 1967; son Timothy F. Whitmire of Berwick; brother William and three sisters: Catherine, Daisy, and Janette.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents as well as a brother Sherwood.
Services will be Thursday May 5, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick with Pastor Stephen Portner of Bethany United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family will receive friends from 3:00 pm till time of service.
