Eugene "Cord" Sheridan

Eugene “Cord” Sheridan, 79, of Berwick PA,  passed away peacefully at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville on Monday, January 23, 2017 after a brief illness.

Born in Pittston on June 9, 1937, he was the son of the late Bernard and Jean Sloan Sheridan.

He was a 1955 graduate of West Pittston High School, and attended Bloomsburg State College and Wilkes College.  Cord was employed for 33 years at Pope and Talbot (previously Potlatch Corporation and Swanee Paper) as a production scheduler and credit manager. While a resident of West Pittston, he was active in the community, as an auditor for the Borough of West Pittston, Assistant Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 350, and an active member of the Wyoming Area Band Parents.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Berwick, where he served on the Community Outreach Committee and The Session.

He was preceded in death by a brother Bernard, first wife Margaret Baird Sheridan and second wife Susan Johnson Learn Sheridan. 

He is survived by son Jeffrey and his wife Jacqueline of Berwick, daughter Sloan Sheridan at home, grandson Kevin, and step daughter Melissa Learn of Wilkes-Barre. 

Funeral arrangements are through the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc of Berwick.   A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be at Pine Grove Walnut St. Berwick.  Family and friends may send condolences to www.jameshinckleyjrfuneralhome.com
