Ernest F. Franczak

Ernest F. Franczak, 89, of Berwick formally of Ringwood, NJ, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Berwick Retirement Village II.
He was born April 15, 1927 in Plains, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Krzywicki) Franczak.
Ernest graduated from Benton High School and then graduated from the Williamsport Technical Institute.  He served in the United States Army 381 division during WWII in Germany.  Ernest worked for the James River Corporation as a senior project manager, retiring in 1988 after 32 years. He played baseball in Benton on the Tri-County League.  He loved all sports especially baseball and football and he was an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by four siblings; Joseph, Helen, William and Eleanor Dluzeski.
Ernest is survived by his wife the former Patricia J. Harrison whom he married November 25, 1950 and two daughters Susan (Anthony) Lucas of Clinton, NJ and Sally (Jeffrey) Breakstone of River Vale, NJ.  He is also survived by four grandchildren Anna (Michael) Shaw, Kate (Adam) Winseck, Alison Lucas, JJ Breakstone and six great grandchildren; Abigail, Lydia, Clara, Maxwell, Lily and Quinn.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday March 16, 2017 at 11:00 am at James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 1024 North Market St. Berwick, with Chaplain Michael Delp officiating.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Cambra Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Friends unable to attend may send condolences at www.jameslhinckleyjrfuneralhome.com.
