Dorothy L. (Stephens) Seely

Dorothy L. Seely, 86, longtime resident of Berwick, PA and later Bonham Nursing Center in Stillwater, PA passed away Monday January 25, 2016.
Born in Kingston, PA on January 15, 1930, she was the youngest daughter of the late Howard Charles Stephens and Leda Caroline (Davies) Stephens.
She was married for 52 years to Walter (Frank) Franklin Seely who passed away on February 21, 2001 and they raised 8 children together. She was also a longtime companion to Ray “Skip” Thomas, also deceased. A son, Howard Seely who passed in 1966, two brothers; Bill and Dick Stephens, and a sister Stella Dietterick.
She worked at Big B Restaurant, Weikel’s Restaurant, Country Maid Sportswear and Orange Street Elementary School Cafeteria, all of Berwick.
Dorothy belonged to the Summerhill Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and worked at the food stand at their carnival for many years. She also was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s briefly.
She enjoyed traveling and took several road trips out West, as well as other places with her husband. She liked to cook, enjoyed craft fairs, carnivals, dining out, music and shopping.
Dorothy will be missed by her children; Robert Seely and wife Robin of Nescopeck, PA, Priscilla Wolfe and husband Bradley of Shickshinny Lake, PA, Bruce Seely and wife Catherine of Berwick,PA, Craig Seely and wife Debbie of Unityville,PA, Brent Seely and wife Mary of Bloomsburg, PA, Kent Seely and wife Allison of Berwick, PA, and Leda Seely and fiancé Mark Rex of Berwick, PA. Also, 10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday January 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1024 Market St., Berwick with Pastor Susan Knorr of Ebenezer United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am till time of service.
