Carolyn M. Benscoter

 Carolyn M. Benscoter, 73, of Berwick passed away Saturday December 26, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born September 7, 1942 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Freas and Mary (Kishbaugh) Benscoter.
She graduated from Berwick High School class of 1960 and Bloomsburg State Teacher’s College. She worked as a Special Education Teacher in Michigan and in Berwick. She was a member of First Christian Church, Berwick. For the last 15 years she always had a Christmas tea party at her church, where she handmade all the gifts and center pieces. Carolyn enjoyed cooking, crafts, and collecting stampings.
Carolyn is survived by a brother Lloyd Benscoter and companion Evelyn Campbell, a sister Eva Mont all of Berwick, and two nieces; Erica Mont and Elizabeth Mont-Miller and husband Charlie.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Richard Jefferies who passed away in 1998.
Services will be Thursday December 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home, 1024 Market St., Berwick with Pastor John Hill of Berwick Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut St. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm till time of service. Family and friends may send online condolences to jameslhinckleyjrfuneralhome.com.
