Brian L. “Bones” Bloom, 44, of Berwick passed away Thursday August 31, 2017 at his residence. He was born November 1, 1972 in Danville, a son of Franklin O. and Kathryn (Sweeney) Bloom Jr. of Berwick.
He graduated from Columbia Montour Vo-Tech High School Class of 1990. Brian worked at K-Fab as a plasma operator. He enjoyed hunting, camping especially at Worlds End State Park, shooting bow and attending the yearly Forksville Bow Hunters Festival, and anything outdoors. He enjoyed watching football especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, going bowling, playing golf, shooting pool and darts. Brian invented a dice game called “Got It”, and enjoyed playing it with his family. Brian was a movie fanatic, and loved watching Mash. One of his favorite hobbies was farming, where he worked as a teenager through adult at Kisner Orchards. He also worked at his family’s floor store laying floor. Brian was a thoughtful, loving, caring, and big hearted person.
Brian is survived by his parents as well as two sons; Gared T. Bloom of Halifax, Christopher E. Bloom of Carbondale, three brothers; Franklin O. Bloom III. and wife Laura of Dauphin, Scott A. Bloom of Berwick, Timothy J. Bloom and wife Megan of Berwick, 11 nieces and nephews, and two great nieces.
He was preceded in death by a nephew Jordan M. Bloom.
Services will be Tuesday September 5, 2017 at 10:00 am at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick with Pastor Chad Hebrink officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday September 4, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
