Betty Mae Watts, 93, of Berwick departed this life Tuesday October 18, 2016 at Berwick Retirement Village II.

Born March 2, 1923 in Berwick, PA, she was the daughter of the late Parvin and Ella (Flick) Kershner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jacques “Jack” A. Watts; sisters, Dorothy Jean Roinick, and Shirley Kovach; brothers, Clyde Flick, Parvin Kershner, Jr, Harold Kershner, Charles Franklin Kershner, Paul Kershner, Fred Kershner, Jesse Kershner, and Clark Kershner; and a granddaughter Heather Adams Hess.

Betty graduated from Berwick High School, class of 1941, and was a lifetime resident of Berwick, PA and a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church. Betty worked at Wise Foods. For many years she was an active member of Lutheran Church Women, Christian Women, and Fowlersville Homemakers. She was a skilled sewer, obtaining the title of Master Seamstress.

Betty is survived by three children: Perry L. (Sharon) Adams of Colorado Springs, CO, Kerry R. Adams of Berwick, PA, and Starla J. Wellenhoffer (Richard Newsome) of Emporia, VA. She is remembered by ten grandchildren, Bethany (Raymond) Tonkinson, Erika (Peter) Kendron, Tara (Dan) Coder, Jaime (Patrick) Sheehan, Joshua (Sarah) Wellenhoffer, Krystal (David) Porter, Jeri (Jim) Frazier, Tina Palmer, Billie Jo (Jeff) Drumheller, and Kerri Adams. Betty is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren Benjamin and Brianna Hess, Matthew Tonkinson, Alana Badolato, Jack and Casimira Kendron, Cooper Jack, Colby, and Riley Sheehan, Spencer and Madison Mae Wellenhoffer, Samantha Porter, Michael, Shantel, and Christopher Wintersteen, Brandon Haas and Kolsyn Lonkey, Keira and Kayla Frazier, Alysia and Cory Palmer, Ryan Coder, Ashley Biddings, Matthew Gable, and Audrey and Ella Porter. Survived by three great-great-grandchildren, Parker and Taesia Williams, and Nova Palmer; and three sisters-in-law: Irmgard Kershner, Charlotte Kershner, and Dot Kershner.

Services will be Monday October 24, 2016 at 11:00 am at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 Market St., Berwick with Pastor Chad Hebrink officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday October 23, 2016 at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
