Bertis "Bucky" Ralph Dennis

Bertis Ralph “Bucky” Dennis, 77, of Berwick passed away April 28, 2017 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. He was born December 13, 1939 at home in North Centre Township, a son of the late George and Laura (Petty) Dennis.

He graduated from Central Columbia High School class of 1960. He worked for 42 years at Wise Potato Chips, retiring April 1, 2002. Bucky worked part-time on the farm of Paul Thomas in North Centre Township, and farmed his own land. He raised steers and pigs and grew the grain and hay needed for their feed. Bucky enjoyed Atlantic City Casino trips and Mohegan Sun Casino. He enjoyed hunting. He attended Evansville United Methodist Church.

Bucky was a social member at American Vets Post 93 in Nescopeck, member of Briar Creek Grange #146 where he held the 7th Degree, which is the highest degree on the national level.

Bucky is survived by his wife, the former Bonnie Farrell, whom he married December 17, 1977 and celebrated 39 years together, six children; Amy Burt and husband Paul of Dade City, Florida, Abby Beach and husband Charles of Bloomsburg, Andy Dennis and wife Diane of Bloomsburg, Matthew Cragle and wife Terri of Berwick, Wendy Hauck of Converse, TX, Todd Cragle and wife Donna of Berwick, 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. As well as sister Gladys Winders of Dover, PA, and brother Donald Dennis of Berwick.

A memorial service will be held Saturday May 6, 2017 at noon at Evansville United Methodist Church, 8 Lights Road, Berwick, PA 18603 with Pastor Bill Gibson and Dennis Sitler officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of service.
