Andrew Joseph Dula

Andrew Joseph Dula, 83, of Harveyville returned home to the Lord early Monday morning August 28, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by his loving family.
Andy was the son of the late Andrew E. and Pearl (Telencho) Dula and grew up in the Hanover section of Nanticoke. He graduated from Nanticoke Area High School in 1952 where he excelled playing basketball and baseball. He then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. After the service he graduated from Wilkes-Barre Business College where he also played basketball. In 1960 he started working for the Ford Motor Company at their assembly plant in Edison, New Jersey, retiring in 1991. A member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Berwick he was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Andy was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees along with being a season ticket holder for the SWB Yankees/RailRiders for many years, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years the former, Lottie Constance Baluta, four children; Valerie Yatsko and husband Michael of Catawissa, Pamela Pisack and husband Joseph of Kingston, Jeffrey Dula of Muhlenburg, Andy Dula of Shickshinny, and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:00 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 721 Monroe St., Berwick, with Father Matthew R. Larlick officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Nanticoke.
